UEFA has opened the tender bidding process for bidding to find a beer brand to take up the sponsorship rights for the next three-year rights cycle for the Champions League.
The package, which covers the 2009/10 to 2011/2012 seasons, also includes sponsorship rights to the annual UEFA Super Cup and has been extended to include the final qualifying round of the Champions League.
The process is being handled by TEAM Marketing, UEFA’s exclusive marketing agent for the exploitation of commercial rights for the above-mentioned events.
Heineken are the current beer category sponsor of the Champions League, the brewer having been involved with the tournament through either its Heineken or Amstel brands since the competition began.
The deadline for the submission of offers from qualified parties for the beer category sponsorship is Friday 8th February 2008.
