UEFA has unveiled the visual identity for the 2020 Champions League final, which will take place in Istanbul.
Last year, European football’s governing body commissioned Ruben Sanchez, an artist from the host city, Madrid, to create the visual identity for the final. This year they have continued the series, working with Turkish artist and illustrator Tolga Tarhan, as well as UEFA partners TEAM Marketing AG and branding agency DesignStudio.
The 2020 visual features iconic landmarks of the city such as the Galata Tower and depicts an abstract view of the city at sunset as well as keeping the Champions League trophy front and centre.

Meanwhile, at Thursday’s draw for the Champions League and Europa League group stages, UEFA will honour the two winners of their #EqualGame Award, which recognises a person or organisation that has promoted diversity, inclusion and accessibility in European football.
Borussia Dortmund will receive an award for their anti-racism initiatives as well as the adoption of “a clear policy on the humanitarian rights of refugees and asylum seekers,” while Burnley fan Scott Cunliffe will be honoured for his successful RunAway Challenge, where the 45-year-old ran to all 19 Burnley away games last season, raising more than £55,000 for charity.
UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin said: “Scott’s story is an inspiration to many. Through his commitment and hard work, he has raised money to help communities right across his country.”
