UEFA has announced that it has received record traffic to its website, uefa.com, with over 17.4m fans visiting the site since the start of the season.
Since August, 17.4m football fans have visited uefa.com, generating over 60 million visits and 700 million page views – a 25% increase compared to the same period last season.
Some 58% of visits this season have come from Europe, 22% from the Americas and 17% from Asia and Australia. Top countries include the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, Italy, the Russian Federation, Portugal and France.
Live match coverage is the single most visited feature, generating 15% of the overall traffic.
On average, 2.4m visits were registered for UEFA Champions League match weeks and 250,000 visits for UEFA Cup match weeks.
Uefa.com has also introduced live podcasts and vodcasts this season which are approaching 500,000 downloads.
