More than 75 teams from across the world are set to come together at Beyond Sport United – a unique event taking place at Yankee Stadium on 27th September that will bring together the gathering of clubs ever assembled to address their role in triggering positive social change in the communities they serve.

UK clubs including Arsenal, Fulham, Liverpool, Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, and Saracens will join their counterparts from around the world to discuss how having a genuine involvement in the communities they serve can have positive impact both on their social and business objectives.

The teams will join more than 150 representatives of governing bodies, sports leagues, rights holders, companies and grassroots organizations, all of whom believe in the ability of sport to have a greater impact on cities.

The event has the backing of all of the major US sports leagues – Major League Baseball (MLB), Major League Soccer (MLS), the National Basketball Association (NBA); the National Football League (NFL); the National Hockey League (NHL); and the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) – as Founding Supporters, the first time these organisations have collaborated around the issue of sport in the community.

Senior representatives from American teams, including the Commissioner of the NHL, and owners of the New Orleans Saints, the Philadelphia Eagles, the Cincinnati Reds, and the Buffalo Bills will join top level figures from the UK, and CEOs from businesses from around the world including Canterbury, Sagitta Group, and Populous.

The event will see a range of experts speak on various issues regarding sport teams’ role in social change, including Michael Porter, Director of Institute for Strategy and Competitiveness at Harvard Business School, who made waves at the World Economic Forum this year on his theories around healthcare and ‘shared value’.
