Scottish Premier League side Heart of Midlothian has signed a lucrative new kit
sponsorship deal with Umbro, netting the club an annual cash boost in excess of
seven figures.

Umbro takes over the contract from previous sponsors Hummel from the start of
next season as part of a new two-year deal which also sees Hearts centralise all
its replica merchandise operations out of its in-house department.

Hearts new away kit is to be launched in June, with the home strip to follow
in July.

The cash injection will help the club’s plans to build an extension to its
Tynecastle Stadium.

At the club’s AGM, a motion was passed which allows the Hearts board to
extend the current debt of £28.4m to £40m in order to help finance the plans.

Hearts aim to secure a £6m deal which will allow the building programme to go
ahead, with nearby Tynecastle High School and nursery being relocated.
