Wasps has agreed a kit sponsorship deal with US sportswear brand Under Armour, who become the club’s official technical apparel partner.

The deal includes the supply of matchday and training kit, in addition to commercial rights and signage at Wasps’ home ground, Ricoh Arena, in Coventry.

Chris Bate, Under Armour’s vice-president and managing director, Europe, said: “It is a privilege to be working with one of the most successful club rugby union teams in the world – Wasps’ traditions and dedication to the game are a great fit for what we stand for at Under Armour.”

Wasps’ director of Rugby, Dai Young, said: “As a squad, we are always striving to improve all areas of our performance, so to have a brand of the quality of Under Armour supporting us and providing apparel, which is designed and developed to make all athletes better, is a huge boost.

“Under Armour are respected worldwide for their attention to detail, innovation and their commitment to work alongside athletes to ensure their elite performance line is at the cutting edge of their chosen sport, helping to improve performance.”

The new kit will be built with Under Armour’s signature technologies, including sweat-wicking HeatGear fabric and ArmourGrid technology, currently integrated within the apparel of fellow Under Armour partners Wales Rugby Union and Top 14’s Clermont Auvergne.

Wasps completed a move to Coventry in late 2014 after acquiring the Ricoh Arena and are currently sixth in the Aviva Premiership, the top professional rugby union division in England.
