Tottenham Hotspur Football Club has unveiled the club’s new Under Armour home and away kits – sporting the logo of its new principle partner, Hewlett-Packard – for the forthcoming 2013/2014 season at a press event in Shoreditch, which also saw the launch of the next chapter of the I WILL campaign and the new SpeedForm RC running shoe.
The HP logo features on the front of the new shirt, which reportedly pays tribute to the kits worn during the club’s successful 1960s period, having previously adorned the club’s kit between 1995 and 1999.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy said in a statement: ‘We are delighted to welcome the HP brand back to the club having previously been a club partner in the 90s.’
‘HP has established itself as one of the world’s leading technology companies and we look forward to working with them once again for the coming season.’
The new Under Armour kits weigh just 3.8 ounces and are the quickest drying kits ever produced by the brand.
The kits are available to pre-order from today for delivery on 10th August, the same date they go on sale at the White Hart Lane Megastore as well as the club’s official website.
The third kit will be unveiled later this summer.
Meanwhile, the next chapter of its I WILL campaign was also launched, as the brand debuted the campaign’s new creative and highlighted its plans to bring I WILL to life in all of its key international markets.
The event featured an exclusive preview of the brand’s new U.S. commercial, “Highlights”. Developed by the brand’s in-house creative team, Under Armour athlete and two-time Super Bowl Champion of the Baltimore Ravens Ray Lewis served as executive producer.
Commenting on the campaign, Matt Mirchin, senior vice president of Global Brand & Sports Marketing at Under Armour – now a £1.3bn business – said: ‘The I WILL platform will be represented around the world in a global campaign that is designed to resonate with every athlete and team, regardless of who they are and where they train, and spotlight their determination and ‘Will’ to become the best they can be.’
Speaking at the launch event, Mirchin also revealed that a new UK office will open in Manchester later this month.
