Unibet has signed an agreement to become the new title sponsor of the EuroHockey Championships 2015, taking place at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in August.
The Unibet EuroHockey Championships 2015 comprises 40 matches over ten days at Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre, with the women’s and men’s champions crowned over the weekend of 29th and 30th August.
England Hockey has also announced plans to increase the size of the stadium, with additional tickets to be released on 27th April for existing bookers, and on 1st May to the general public.
Andy Tapley, chair of the Unibet EuroHockey Championships 2015 organising committee, said: “We are delighted that Unibet has come on board as Title Sponsor of the forthcoming EuroHockey Championships. With its genuine passion and expertise across all sport, the partnership will help us create more interest in the event and continue to grow hockey in the run up to the Olympics.”
Phillip Manzi, Unibet UK country manager, commented: “We are delighted to sponsor the Eurohockey Championships 2015 and believe this fits in with Unibet’s passionate, friendly and expert values. Unibet pride ourselves on being the home for all sports, especially those that people are passionate about, and hockey certainly fits the bill.”
Marijke Fleuren, president of the EHF, added: “I would like to congratulate England Hockey on securing a title sponsor for the EuroHockey Championships. From the outset all the stakeholders agreed that this Championships would be about putting the players first, also a core strategy of Unibet. We welcome Unibet and share its wish for players to play in a fair-play environment.”
