Manchester United has bought the one third share in its club channel, MUTV, owned by ITV in a £3.3m deal.

The deal sees United now own two-thirds of the MUTV company, with the remaining third owned by Sky Ventures, a subsidiary of BSkyB.

MUTV was launched in 1998 and is available in the UK and Ireland by subscription on Sky Digital and cable platforms.

The channel is also available worldwide through a combination of subscription or as programming blocks purchased by international broadcasters.

MUTV employs 60 staff and currently operates from offices in central Manchester, a studio at the club’s training ground and from facilities within Old Trafford stadium.
