Unlucky Fans To Get Second Go At Games Tickets

Thousands of remaining tickets for events at Glasgow 2014 go on sale next week, in an exclusive two-day window open only to those who missed out on initial applications. 

Tickets remaining include seats to rugby sevens, badminton, hockey, table tennis, squash, bowls and weightlifting competitions have the best availability, as well as a limited number for sessions of athletics, boxing, rhythmic gymnastics and the Opening and Closing ceremonies.

2.3 million ticket requests were made in the initial four-week window, for up to one million tickets.

The second sale will run from Monday 21st October for six days, with the first two set aside for applicants who missed out in the initial ticket sales.

From next Wednesday, fans who received some of their requested tickets in the initial period will have the chance to purchase more on a first come, first served basis, with those who received all of their initial application able to join the sale from the Friday.

Any remaining tickets will then be released on general sale at a later date.

Of the 17 sports on offer, track cycling, diving, swimming, judo, shooting and the 100 metres sprint final were all oversubscribed and needed ballots to select who received tickets.

Meanwhile the Glasgow 2014 Baton has begun its round-the-world trip, after leaving London from Buckingham Palace last week.
