Following the departure of John Steele from his role as chief executive of the Rugby Football Union (RFU) last week, the Sport Industry Group is delighted to announce that Paul Vaughan, Chief Executive of England Rugby 2015 – the tournament organising company that will deliver the Rugby World Cup, will now be the subject interviewee of the Nolan Partners Sport Industry Breakfast Club this Wednesday, 15th June.

Vaughan took up his new role at the turn of the year moving across from the RFU where he had been Business Operations Director for 10 years.

During his time at the RFU, Vaughan grew its commercial revenues from £43m to £119m and played a major role in creating the commercial partnerships with Compass Group, Marriott Hotels and Virgin Health that underpin the new South Stand development.

Now in its second year, the Nolan Partners Sport Industry Breakfast Club has been established to create four uniquely positioned events throughout the year that will see prominent individuals from the global sporting hierarchy interviewed on relevant and topical subjects in front of 200 leading figures from across the entire spectrum of the UK and European sport industry.

The second event of this year’s Club will see Vaughan address the assembled industry executives on the current status and structure of the Rugby World Cup, taking place in New Zealand this September, and the impact of England hosting the tournament in 2015.
