Vauxhall Motors has announced a new four-year extension to its partnership with the Football Association of Wales, completing a set of renewals across the home nation countries following new deals already announced with England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

The partnership now means that the British car manufacturer will continue to support all of the home nations until July 2018 – the conclusion of the FIFA World Cup in Russia.

As part of the agreement, Vauxhall will maintain its position as official principal partner to all Wales national teams, and will reportedly invest heavily in media to give football fans greater behind the scene access to the Welsh team through exclusive video content.

Vauxhall chairman and managing director, Duncan Aldred, said: ‘We are delighted to have extended our relationship with the Football Association of Wales and all of their national teams. The decision to renew our sponsorship for the next five years was made much easier given the tremendous response we’ve received from our customers and retailers in Wales.’

‘Our research shows that having an affiliation with the Welsh national side has delivered fantastic levels of brand awareness and we plan to continue this by playing a key role in supporting the FAW and developing football in Wales over our extended period as lead partners.’

Following extensions with England in May, the close season marked a productive period for the Luton-based firm, who extended deals with Scotland last month and Northern Ireland earlier this week.

Vauxhall originally completed the clean sweep of sponsorship deals back in 2011.
