England Team Sponsor, Vauxhall, is set to give fans behind the scenes access at St. George’s Park ahead of the team’s last fixture on home soil before the squad head out to Brazil. The car manufacturer has also signed as a category exclusive sponsor for talkSPORT’s coverage of the FIFA World Cup.
Fans will get the opportunity to watch Roy Hodgson’s men train at the National Football Centre and will be hosting the day with John Barnes and Matt Le Tissier in attendance.
England face Peru on 30th May at Wembley in their final game in England before the World Cup kicks off in Brazil.
As part of the activity Vauxhall has teamed up with the Daily Mirror as their media partner for the event.
Peter Hope, Vauxhall marketing director commented: ‘We are really looking forward to taking the England fans behind the scenes at St. George’s Park in May.’
‘Giving fans the opportunity to wish England good luck and get up close to the action during their final preparations for the World Cup is something we are very excited about.’
‘Throughout our sponsorship of Home Nations football we have been focusing on giving fans opportunities that money just can’t buy and this experience takes that to the next level.’
Meanwhile, a deal with sports radio station, talkSPORT, will see Vauxhall appear across all talkSPORT platforms, including on-air, online, social media and in talkSPORT’s sister publication Sport magazine, until the final of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil on 13th July.
As part of the deal Vauxhall will give talkSPORT listeners the chance to experience unique and exclusive events in the lead up to, and during, the World Cup this summer to help raise awareness of Vauxhall’s role as official England Team Sponsor.
Ahead of the tournament talkSPORT’s listeners will have the opportunity to win England tickets with Vauxhall and the chance to take a penalty at Wembley. A lucky talkSPORT winner will have the chance to win a trip to Brazil by taking part in Vauxhall’s On The Spot penalty shootout competition on the Wembley turf. Finally, Vauxhall will be running a competition on talkSPORT for fans to attend one of England’s final training sessions at St George’s Park before they head off to South America.
During the World Cup, talkSPORT and Vauxhall will be hosting exclusive screenings of England’s matches to give fans a unique experience and get them as close as possible to the action.
talkSPORT’s presenters will also be part of England Supporters Club Fan Hubs during England’s warm-up matches in Miami and throughout the tournament in Brazil.
