Velocity Capital Management has acquired a strategic stake in UK-based football agency Unique Sports Group.
The deal is set to support USG’s international expansion, including the opening of a new office in Miami ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and the development of its presence in women’s football and other emerging talent markets.
USG, founded in 2008, has become one of the five highest-ranked football agencies globally, with a client roster of over 350 players whose combined estimated transfer market value exceeds £1b.
Its UK-based clients include England internationals Marc Guehi, Anthony Gordon, and Brennan Johnson, as well as emerging Premier League talents such as Arsenal’s Ethan Nwaneri and Newcastle’s Lewis Miley.
Since 2021, USG has completed more transactions than any other agency in the Premier League and Championship and has recently brokered the $83 million transfer of Jhon Durán from Aston Villa to Al-Nassr, the second-highest fee in Saudi Pro League history.
Velocity has intended to leverage existing partnerships, including Elevate Sports Ventures and Videocites , to enhance USG’s commercial offering and content strategy.
Recent senior hires at USG include former Tottenham Director of Football Steve Hitchen and ex-CAA executive Omar Ismail as CFO.
