Real Madrid and Brazil star Vinicius Jr has become a brand ambassador of UK-based consumer goods company Unilever.
As per the agreement, the 23-year-old will feature in campaigns for Unilever’s Dirt Is Good brand, which is known as Persil in the UK.
Vinicius Jr will be involved in the company’s ‘Play On’ campaign, encouraging people to be active and take part in sport.
One of the favourites to win this year’s Ballon d’Or, Vinicius Jr recently signed an ambassador deal with US sports drink brand Gatorade. The Real Madrid forward’s expansive partnership portfolio also includes Nike, TCL and Red Bull.
The Brazilian joins Bukayo Saka as an ambassador of Unilever, which is also a partner of the England international’s club Arsenal.
The deal comes ahead of this year’s Copa America, of which Unilever is an official partner.
Throughout the tournament, the company’s personal care brands Axe, Degree, Dove and Dove+Care will receive prominent promotion. Unilever is also a partner of this summer’s UEFA Euro 2024 championships.
Vinicius Jr said, “My own pathway into professional football was full of challenges on and off the pitch.
“These helped shape me as an individual, and I was not afraid to get dirty in the process.
“Through this partnership, I hope I can inspire the next generation to do what it takes to thrive in the face of adversity and demonstrate fearless resilience in pursuit of their goals.”
Tati Lindenberg, Vice President of Marketing at Dirt Is Good, added, “Our brand new era, Play On, champions the values of sport to unleash human potential, personal growth and resilience whilst celebrating the stains gained through a game well played – this is why I am thrilled to welcome Vini Jr as an ambassador for the OMO brand and into the Dirt Is Good family – particularly in our 20th anniversary year.
“Vini Jr embraces all the grime and the glory in sport – viewing getting dirty as a mark of success along the way. I can’t wait to see our plans for this partnership come to life.”
