With Wimbledon just days away, leading health club operator Virgin Active has unveiled a three-week campaign to capitalise on tennis fever, opening its 20 Health & Racquets Clubs to the public for free over three weeks.

Non-members will be able to participate in tennis-based fitness classes and coaching by registering on the Virgin Active website. The campaign, launched by Laura Robson and Sir Richard Branson, comes at the start of a busy summer of activity for the health club operator, with Olympic silver medalist gymnast Louis Smith, boxing gold medalist Nicola Adams, taekwondo gold medalist Jade Jones and Paralympic sprinter Sophia Warner taking on the Virgin Active London Triathlon, Prudential RideLondon and the Bloomberg Square Mile Relay.

Meanwhile, ticket marketplace viagogo has reported a 237% increase in ticket searches for Wimbledon following Andy Murray’s win at the Aegon Tennis Championships this weekend. Tickets for the men’s Wimbledon final on July 7th are currently trading at £2,950.

viagogo spokesperson Steve Roest said: ‘As Murray Mania season begins, getting involved in what could be sporting history is a must. It’s extraordinary to see how much his win at Queens has impacted ticket demand already.’
