Visa Europe has signed a short-term sponsorship to become the official payment services partner of three FIA Formula E races this year, including the season finale in London.
The European division of the global payment provider will sponsor the Monaco, Berlin and London events in this year’s edition of the all-electric racing series.
Formula E’s inaugural season will culminate with a double-header in the England capital on 27th and 28th June.
Visa plans to activate the sponsorship through a mix of traditional, digital and social media marketing activities around the three events, which kicked off with Saturday’s Monaco ePrix.
Mark Antipof, Visa Europe’s sales and marketing chief, said: “We are very excited with this affiliation that we see as the perfect combination of two truly innovative brands.
“Visa Europe’s vision is to drive innovation throughout Europe making payments simpler, smarter and more secure than ever before. With Formula E’s ambitious approach towards revolutionising electric motorcar racing, and the future of car engines, it’s the perfect complementary partnership helping drive the future in each segment.”
Meanwhile, the Virgin Racing team have agreed a partnership with Arrow Electronics, with the company’s logo to appear on the Virgin Racing cars from the Monaco race until the end of the championship.
