Volkswagen Strikes Telegraph Ashes Deal

Volkswagen is to use its Touareg range to sponsor The Daily Telegraph’s
multimedia coverage of the upcoming Ashes series.

The campaign will see the Touareg series promoted across all of the
Telegraph’s cricket coverage including print, podcasts, email, BlackBerry and
the new Telegraph TV format.

The activity launches in print with a 32-page full-colour supplement
appearing on Saturday November 18, containing pre-Test analysis. From November
23, daily coverage during Test matches will include Simon Hughes’ Analyst
column, as well as contributions from 11 cricket professionals, including
Geoffrey Boycott, Ricky Ponting and Andrew Strauss.

The Telegraph’s online cricket coverage will become branded as The Ashes
channel. Users will be able to sign up to ‘Ashes-On-The-Go’ alerts that will
appear by 9am via email or BlackBerry. Additional content will be uploaded onto
the site throughout the day including live scoreboard, daily streamed audio and
video analysis and interviews, and blogs.
