All-female single-seater motorsport championship, W Series, has appointed former ECB Head of Communications Jennie Stoddart-Scott as its new Director of Communications.
She was most recently Head of Communications at the ECB, where she was instrumental in boosting cricket’s profile and bringing new audiences to the sport, and previously spent five years at freuds where she headed up the team delivering behaviour change campaigns for Public Health England, led the Mars UK press office and worked on a series of gender equality campaigns for clients including the Equality and Human Rights Commission and the Mayor of London.
She has also worked at a number of other leading PR agencies, including Fever PR, Teneo and Lexis PR.
“W Series is less than three years old but its growth in that time, particularly against the backdrop of the ongoing global health crisis, has been extraordinary,” said Stoddart-Scott.
“I feel incredibly privileged to be able to play a part in helping W Series to realise its mission to inspire more girls and women to be a part of motorsport and ultimately, to empower them to compete at the highest levels of the sport.
“Our new partnership with F1, the world’s most prestigious motor racing championship, demonstrates just how inspiring and powerful the W Series mission is and I look forward to working closely with the team, and all of our partners, to take our story further and wider.”
Catherine Bond Muir CEO, W Series added: “We are delighted to welcome Jennie to the team ahead of this hugely exciting season.
Her extensive knowledge of consumer and sports PR, coupled with her proven track record in delivering powerful campaigns and corporate reputation programmes, will be invaluable as we look to take W Series to the next level.”
Stoddart-Scott will join the W Series ahead of its second season and will be tasked with capitalising on the success of its inaugural campaign as well as its partnership with Formula 1, which was announced in November 2020, and will see W Series stage races at eight F1 race weekends across the 2021 season.https:https://sig-staging.ypstagingserver.com/news/w-series-confirm-eight-f1-undercard-races-2021
