The Football Association of Wales (FAW) has signed up with Pitchero as an official grassroots partner and official partner of the FAW’s coaching education Level 1 and 2 programme, with the aim to help increase coach participation and education in the game.

The partnership allows Pitchero to support all grassroots football clubs in Wales with the delivery of its digital technology, available to all.

Pitchero is a provider of grassroots technology, serving website, membership and payment services plus mobile and video apps to over 7,000 sports clubs across the UK.

The collaboration will aim to increase individual club revenue and support in uncovering the next generation footballing superstars, while also providing training and guidance for clubs on Pitchero’s digital tools, digital marketing, revenue generation and online sponsorship.

Throughout the two-year period, all FAW clubs will receive workshops as well as ongoing online and telephone support from the UK-based Pitchero team.

The partnership will allow FAW clubs to gain access to Pitchero’s suite of new mobile apps. This includes the use of Pitchero Play, a video highlights app that enables any team to record and upload match highlights within 60 seconds of play occurring, to be shared with the clubs’ communities. The suite of new apps, including Pitchero Club and Pitchero Manager, are for coaches across all levels of the game to help them manage their team, their fixtures, their fans and match day videos.

From a coaching and development perspective, Pitchero will assist within various coaching conferences and courses, to aid the development of future talent, with past attendees including global professional athletes.

Mark Fletcher, CEO and co-founder, Pitchero said: “Our partnership with Football Association of Wales further strengthens our core mission to unite and strengthen the presence of all UK grassroots sports. Our new supportive role in Welsh football will enable Pitchero to become a partner across Welsh football uniting a digital community of players, parents, coaches and fans.

“To be associated with all levels of club development alongside our new additional role as coaching programme partners is a huge privilege, and we will continue to service all levels of grassroots and professional sport throughout this iconic partnership.”

Jonathan Ford, FAW CEO, said: “Working alongside Pitchero, we’re relentlessly building towards a stronger future for grassroots football in Wales. The FAW is investing time and resource to creating a future generation of global superstars, made possible through this grassroots initiative.”
