Trading standards officials in Wales are warning fans against buying Rugby World
Cup tickets online from unofficial websites.

Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium is hosting four Rugby World Cup matches but the
local council has issued a warning to fans warn that people who buy through
unofficial online outlets run the risk of having their tickets cancelled, being
refused entry to games or even being expelled from the stadium.

Thousands of tickets are being sold via unofficial websites but in most cases
the offer is false.

Cardiff Council’s Handley Brustad said: ‘Quite often these tickets just don’t
materialise, it’s a pure scam for fans to send money.’
Most tickets via
official sources have already been sold and one fans’ website says supporters
will still buy online.

Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium stated there are still plenty of tickets left
for two games – Wales versus Japan and Canada versus Fiji.
