Formula E has renewed a multi-year broadcast agreement with Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) to provide coverage in 50 markets across Europe.

The extension will lengthen WBD’s relationship with Formula E beyond 12 years, which began when Eurosport first broadcast the all-electric motor racing series in 2015.

WBD has become the exclusive broadcaster of Formula E in eight European markets including Denmark, Finland, Norway, Poland, Sweden, Spain and Turkey, while also providing live race coverage in Italy for the first time since 2020.

The UK broadcast rights agreement was announced last month and will see the championship shown on TNT Sports.

Trojan Paillot, Senior Vice President of Sports Rights Acquisitions and Syndications at Warner Bros. Discovery Sports Europe, said, “We are proud to house one of the most comprehensive multi-market motorsport portfolios anywhere which delivers year-round action to millions of fans across Europe. We’re delighted that we can further extend our partnership with the Formula E to continue leveraging our world-class production expertise and passionate motorsport storytelling ability to scale coverage to the widest possible audience.”

David Coulthard, Formula E presenter and former Formula 1 driver, added, “As someone who is all about entertainment, Formula E absolutely delivers. It’s going into its 10th season with a world-class driver line-up including multiple champions from across the various championships. It’s a mature racing product that’s got great respect in the motorsport community and is capable of truly captivating fans. I’m looking forward to seeing the community grow.”

Aarti Dabas, Chief Media Officer at Formula E, commented, “Eurosport has been a key player in growing our European fanbase since 2015 and which helped achieve record live audiences for Formula E racing last season. We are delighted to extend this major media partnership with WBD and will work together to continue building the Formula E fanbase across Europe.”

Formula’s E’s tenth season begins on 13th January with the Hankook Mexico City E-Prix. The 2024 series is set to include 16 rounds in 10 global cities including a season ending double-header in London in July.
