Warwickshire County Cricket Club has announced Mark McCafferty has been appointed to the club’s management board as a non-executive director.
McCafferty will continue his duties as chief executive of Premier Rugby Limited, a role he has held since 2005. He was formerly chief executive of Avis Europe plc and also previously held senior executive posts with Thomas Cook.
Warwickshire CCC chairman, Norman Gascoigne, commented: “Mark was born in Sutton Coldfield, and attended Bishop Vesey’s School, and has retained a keen interest in Warwickshire Cricket and Birmingham despite moving to London with his career.
“His experience within rugby and business will be of immense value to the club as we look to drive forward our strategic plans in the coming years.”
Mark McCafferty, who will begin his new role with the club in January, said: “Warwickshire has a tremendous history as a first class county cub and its facilities for both cricket and its conference & events business are world class.
“The club is keen to deliver more success, both on and off the field, in the next few years so I am delighted to have the opportunity to contribute as a non-executive director at what I am sure will be an exciting time.”
