Wasps Netball has become the first Superleague team to partner with an official performance supplement supplier.
The deal, which will run until 2020, will see the Vitality Netball Superleague club work with EQ Nutrition who have spent the past year working alongside the Wasps rugby team.
EQ Nutrition already work with the likes of World Heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, British Olympic diver Tonia Crouch and boxing trainer Shane McGuigan.
The announcement follows the team signing a deal with Jaguar Land Rover, which also sponsor the Wasps rugby team.
Tamsin Greenway, Wasps director of Netball, said: “On game-day and throughout training sessions the players put their body under constant physical pressure, so recovery is vital to ensure you can continue to compete at the top of your game.
“We’re delighted to have teamed up with EQ Nutrition, they work with some of the best athletes in world sport and their assistance will give the girls the best possible chance to stay in peak physical condition.
“The Wasps Rugby players have also been using EQ products to great effect, such is their position in the league, so we hope that is a good omen for us.
Simon Stevens, EQ Nutrition founder, said: “Female nutrition is something we’re proud to be involved with, and it’s already been an interesting journey in educating the girls about different supplement plans.
“Each player will have their own plan according to their shape, size and goals, which is the same approach we take with the Rugby team that has proved to be a successful partnership.
“After we met with Tamsin, we were immediately excited about being involved in such an ambitious team as they start their journey.
“We are very confident in our products and hope that the high-quality supplements and our knowledge we offer will help the team as they look for success in their debut season.”
