London Wasps take on Bath Rugby at Twickenham on St George’s Day, Saturday 23rd April.???
Wasps players including Simon Shaw, Joe Worsley, Riki Flutey, Serge Betsen, Dave Walder, Rob Webber and Ben Broster were challenged to ‘slay’ dragons against the clock by kicking and throwing rugby balls at an enormous 50ft high video game, projected onto Twickenham’s North Stand.????
The initiative aims to support the London Wasps campaign enticing fans to the St George’s Day Game in order to raise money for the four special charities set to benefit from the occasion. ????
Challenged to slay ten dragons as quickly as possible, fly-half Dave Walder came out on top with a range of accurate kicking and passing skills, and as a reward, Walder was invited to play one further level, which featured a colossal fire-breathing dragon, which broke through the wall of the stadium’s North Stand.????
Walder said: ‘The boys were giving me loads of banter as I was called forward for the final level. I had no idea what to expect but the size of the dragon floored me, it was simply staggering. The projection looked really lifelike and the 3D technology was brilliant. The lads really enjoyed themselves and the project was great fun to be involved with’.??
