Wasserman has agreed to acquire CSM Sport & Entertainment.

Sport, music, and culture marketing agency Wasserman has not disclosed the value of the deal, but the acquisition will bolster the US group’s sport roster.

The deal is expected to close in the third quarter of this year giving Wasserman access to CSM Sport & Entertainment’s portfolio of clients including MSC Cruises, Alpine F1, and AIA, the front-of-shirt sponsors for Premier League football club Tottenham Hotspur.

World Athletics President Sebastian Coe is the current non-executive Chairman of CSM, which describes itself as a ‘global integrated sports and entertainment agency’. Last year, CSM acquired Phoenix Management Group, the UK-based cricket talent management business.

Both Chime Communications, CSM’s parent company, and Wasserman, have a common shareholder in the form of investment firm Providence Equity Partners, that provided Wasserman with a stertgic investment in November.

The deal is not the only recent acquisition at Wasserman. The US company has recently completed deals with The Montag Group, Esportif, Mullhaupt Management, Jey Sports Management and BSE Media Group last year.

Wasserman’s current athlete representation includes; Manchester City defenders John Stones and Nathan Aké, Harvey Barnes – who nears a move to Newcastle United, and Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde.
