Wattbike has launched an array of new digital innovations including a powerapp, powerhub and updated Power Cycling Software.

The Wattbike powerapp enables users to view and analyse their workouts on iPhone and Android mobile devices.

This coincides with the introduction of the powerhub, a digital platform which will serve as a cloud based session log and provide analysis of data from training sessions in order to track improvements.

As well as displaying live session data on a mobile device via a Bluetooth connection, the powerapp and powerhub technology allows users to save and review data from each session. Whilst via the powerhub cloud system, the open API lets data be shared across personal tracking apps such as Strava or Training Peaks.

Commenting on the new launches, Richard Baker, commercial director at Wattbike, said: “There has been a rapid shift in the industry as the value of technology has been recognised, whether it’s members using their own wearable tech to monitor performance, or the expectation that a facility will provide this service, operators understand the power of continual feedback to motivate exercisers and ultimately to boost retention.

“These unique digital training solutions will significantly enhance the experience of any rider of any ability. By transferring data seamlessly from the Wattbike to the powerhub, riders can not only analyse their session but also share through social media channels helping riders build a training community, and healthy competition!”

Wattbike will also be presenting the updated Wattbike Power Cycling Software at FIBO 2015, a free software aimed at individual training, group training and indoor racing. The system allows users to display accurate performance data on a screen including power, cadence and heart rate.

Once an individual’s data is entered, the Wattbike Power Cycling Software stores their profile, and applies their personal training zones to each subsequent session.
