Wembley looks odds on to host a regular season NFL game after the American
football franchise awarded the staging of its first overseas game to London.
London secured the match ahead of four German cities while Wembley looks to
have fought off opposition from Twickenham.
‘We’re thrilled to bring the excitement of the NFL regular season to the UK,’
said NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. ‘London is one of the great cities of the
world with an established and growing fan base for our game.’
The date and venue for the game has yet to be confirmed but it seems likely
that it will be a home game for the Miami Dolphins.
