West Brom Secures Latest Loan
EFL Championship football club West Bromwich Albion has secured additional funding from MSD UK Holdings Limited.
The West Bromwich Albion Group borrowed £20m from the financial lender in December 2022 and has now increased the loan to support ‘the ongoing funding of the football club’s general business operations.’
The supplementary borrowing will provide increased working capital as the club’s Chinese owner and Chairman Guochuan Lai continues to engage with parties interested in purchasing a majority shareholding in the Midlands club.
The club has not revealed the amount it has loaned on this occasion.
MSD has had dealings with a number of Premier League and Championship sides, including Southampton, Burnley and Derby County, who went into administration in September 2021 and were relegated to League One, owing MSD £15m.
