West Ham United has signed a two-year extension to its partnership with Lycamobile, which will see the company continue as official mobile partner of the London club.

The deal will see logos of the international mobile calls provider continue to appear at Upton Park and on other club signage and branding areas.

Subaskaran Allirajah, chairman of Lycamobile Group, said: ‘Our sponsorship of West Ham United Football Club has proved successful for both parties and we are thrilled to be extending our relationship. West Ham United is hugely popular in our key markets, and we are excited to continue work with this fantastic Club and engage closely with its loyal fans.’

Although financial terms were not announced, the deal was described as ‘lucrative’ in the official announcement by the club.

Karren Brady, the vice-chairman of West Ham, added: ‘The agreement is another indicator of our growing global appeal, which will only increase further as our exciting move to the Olympic Stadium draws closer.’

‘It is clear that West Ham has real synergy with Lycamobile as we both share a real commitment to serving the local community. With its impressive global and UK footprint, there are a number of joint opportunities within the local community and international territories which will benefit both our and Lycamobile’s huge following.’

The Hammers kicked off their 2013/14 Barclays Premier League campaign against newly-promoted Cardiff City on Saturday with a convincing 2-0 victory, thanks to goals from English midfield-duo Joe Cole and Kevin Nolan (pictured).
