Entries for the BT Sport Industry Awards 2016 close three weeks today, with some of the very best work from across the industry already submitted and awaiting the Judges verdict.
The new Campaign of the Year Award is set to be one of the most sought after prizes and will be hotly contested from all corners of the industry. It will be presented to the piece of the work that has excelled above all others in captivating its audience in another remarkable year for sport in the UK.
The UK continues to prove itself as a hotbed for some of the industry’s leading work, therefore the BT Sport Industry Awards are opening up to accept entries from any international business or agency in the Best International Marketing Campaign. This means the UK can pitch itself against the best campaigns from around the globe and if successful rightly claim it is producing world-leading work.
Another new category, Best Entertainment Experience, incorporates the previous ‘Best Live Experience’ but has been expanded to include any experiential campaign, event or hospitality experience that harnesses sport to maximise participant or spectator experience.
Nick Keller, chairman of Sport Industry Group, said: “We’ve refreshed the categories this year to recognise the incredible quality of work this industry produces. Campaign of the Year will rightly become a truly sought after trophy and the change to Best International Marketing Campaign comes as a result of the outstanding quality of international work we have seen come out of the UK in the last few years. It’s right that we see how we compare to other markets.
“With all the captivating sport offering us some of the most thrilling moments in global sport right on our doorsteps, categories such as Best Entertainment Experience will no doubt give the Judges plenty to discuss too.”
Entries close for the BT Sport Industry Awards 2016 on Tuesday 15th December.
The BT Sport Industry Awards Judging Process is one of the most transparent and stringent procedures of its kind with over 60 hours of intensive judging. Conducted in two stages and all overseen by an independent adjudicator, the process begins with the entries being reviewed and judged by the Awards Steering Committee, featuring figureheads and industry heavyweights, to produce the Official Shortlist.
The Judging Panel then decide the final winner of each category announced at the BT Sport Industry Awards 2016 – the most prestigious commercial sports awards in Europe.
