UK broadcast production agency Whisper has been chosen as the host broadcaster for Roland-Garros in a five-year agreement.
Since 2021, the French Tennis Federation (FFT) has produced in-house coverage, and this new partnership marks an evolution in their broadcasting strategy.
Whisper will provide extensive coverage for all tournament broadcasters from 2025 to 2029.
Roland Garros is one of four Grand Slam events held annually over three weeks at the Porte d’Auteuil in Paris during late May and early June.
Whisper was founded in 2020 by Sunil Patel and the company has gained a reputation for its approach to sports broadcasting, content creation and focus on both live sports coverage and original programming.
Gilles Moretton, President of the FFT said, “We will rely on Whisper’s expertise in audiovisual production to offer our television viewers the best experience possible, with content that is more attractive and innovative than ever.”
Sunil Patel, Co-Founder and CEO at Whisper added, “This is a huge moment for Whisper. I loved the quote displayed on the main Philippe-Chatrier court at Roland-Garros, which says ‘Victory belongs to the most tenacious.’
“It’s incredible to be working with such a recognised sporting brand. We’re already planning for next year’s event, when we will be broadcasting every shot played and showcasing the epic storytelling of this amazing tournament as it unfolds.”
Whisper has a previously fused entertainment with long-standing and elite-level sports such as Formula 1, The Paralympics, International Cricket and Women’s EURO.
