Whistle Sports, a global sports media company, and the National Football League (NFL) have teamed up to create ‘Game Recognize Game’, which will see NFL and Premier League stars go head-to-head in a series of challenges to play out across social channels.

The four-episode social series will feature elite NFL players and international football players battling against each other in a series of football versus soccer challenges.

Challenges include Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero going head-to-head with three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year, Houston Texan’s JJ Watt, to find out who can kick a field goal further.

“We are excited to work with Whistle Sports, our NFL clubs and players, and teams from the English Premier League and their players, to create engaging content,” said NFL vice president of international marketing, Henry Hodgson.

“Collectively, we believe this series will appeal to sports fans consuming content on social media platforms around the world.”

Jeff Urban, co-founder and president, Whistle Sports, added: “This is a great example of the power of what Whistle Sports and the NFL can do together. Through our partnership, we expect to see more content like this as we lead into the 2017 season.

“We continue to work with the league on attracting young audiences across social, and we’re excited to premier this content on Whistle Sports and create a social conversation with players, leagues, teams and fans.”

The series kicks off on Wednesday with New York Giants’ Landon Collins up against Spurs’ Harry Kane.

Spread over the next two weeks, the series will also feature Manchester United’s Victor Lindelof and Paul Pogba up against two-time Super Bowl champion Danny Amendola and former Pro Bowl cornerback Josh Norman.

Full episodes of the series will go live on Whistle Sports’ YouTube and Facebook channels with social assets distributed across NFL, team, and player owned channels on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.

2017 will see four NFL matches played in London this year, with 21 games now played in London in the last ten years as a proposed franchise in the capital continues to be rumoured.
