Sports marketing activations agency B-Engaged has added professional boxer Ben Whittaker to its roster.
The new partnership will see B-Engaged manage all of the Olympic silver medallist’s ‘brand building, media strategy, commercial obligations and philanthropic objectives’.
To launch their collaboration, London-based B-Engaged brokered a deal that sees the Olympian become Diesel Fragrances main UK ambassador which was announced at Milan Fashion Week.
The deal marks the agency’s first signing in boxing and adds to a roster which includes Arsenal’s William Saliba and Kai Havertz, Manchester United’s Mason Mount, Manchester City’s Mateo Kovacic, as well as Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies and Serge Gnabry.
Ben Whittaker, commented, “I’ve been looking for the right option to help take my team to the next level for a little while.
“When I was doing my research I came across B-Engaged. I was impressed by what I was seeing and hearing about them. I initiated a meeting and when I heard about the journey and how they saw me not as a boxer or athlete, but as a human it felt right.
“It been clear from the start we were aligned on so much.
Even how we both see the future of athlete marketing and how us athletes can use their brands. We’ve got some big things coming up and I feel like it was the perfect move for me.”
Ehsen Shah, CEO of B-Engaged, added, “We have been waiting for the right moment to enter the combat space after achieving so much in football. A number of opportunities have been offered to us over the years, but for different reasons, it just hasn’t been right.
“Then when we had the opportunity to work with Ben, learning what he is about out of the ring, hearing about his plans, we just knew if we were going to do it, it was with him.
“Just seeing him grow recently both in and out of the ring, which has lead to the deal with Diesel is a sign of things to come. We have a lot of cool stuff planned and look forward to achieving great things together!”
