The National Football League (NFL) has signed Extreme Networks as the organisation’s first official wi-fi provider to ‘enhance the fan experience through Extreme Networks’ technology in NFL stadia’.

The network solutions firm had initially served as the official wi-fi analytics provider of the NFL in a deal signed earlier this year.

Michelle McKenna-Doyle, the NFL’s chief information officer said: ‘Enhancing the fan experience continues to be one the NFL’s top priorities.’

‘By teaming up with Extreme Networks, we’re building the technology infrastructure needed and delivering on the high standards we have put in place to give our fans the type of experience they deserve.’

Extreme Networks’ wi-fi solutions are currently in place at six NFL venues including the New England Patriots’ Gillette Stadium, the Philadelphia Eagles’ Lincoln Financial Field and the Seattle Seahawks’ CenturyLink Field.
