UK luxury SUV brand Range Rover has been revealed as the official vehicle partner of Wimbledon.

The deal kicks in from the 2024 edition of the iconic grass-court tennis tournament, which will take place between 1st and 14th July.

Throughout this year’s Grand Slam Championships, a fleet of Range Rover vehicles will transport players, coaching and event officials to and from matches. This will include the latest Range Rover and Range Rover Sport plug-in electric hybrid electric models.

These cars will be charged at the All England Lawn Tennis Club’s (AELTC’s) newly built Indoor Tennis Centre, which is powered by renewable energy and can support both hybrid and electric vehicles.

The deal comes as part of the AELTC’s strategy to reduce its carbon output, as it targets net zero emissions by 2030.

Range Rover owner Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) Automotive has a longstanding partnership with Wimbledon. Jaguar served as the iconic tennis event’s first ever car partner in 2015.

In 2021, that deal was extended for a further five years, and was set to run until 2025. The early extension of the agreement however will see Range Rover now replace Jaguar in the vehicle partnership category.

Geraldine Ingham, Managing Director at Range Rover, said, “As an iconic British cultural event watched by millions across the world, The Championships provides the ideal opportunity for Range Rover to engage with our global clients with creative storytelling, that perfectly captures the elegance and refinement of our vehicles and the synergies between our two modern luxury brands.”

Deborah Jevans, Chair of the AELTC, added, “We are delighted to be continuing our long-standing partnership with JLR with the announcement of Range Rover as official vehicle partner.

“I am particularly pleased with the inclusion of a significant number of lower emission plug-in hybrid vehicles in the fleet, with a focus on as many journeys as possible being delivered in EV mode. This is another step towards our goal of achieving net zero operational emissions by 2030.”
