Sports marketing agency Wasserman Media Group is expanding its golf talent management arm through the launch of a European division.

The new WMG golf division will represent established and new golfers, and realize marketing opportunities for its athletes in the sport.

The launch of the European golf practice follows the success of WMG’s US practice, formed 18 months ago and includes clients such as JJ Henry and Hunter Mahan.

The new European golf practice will be headed up by Brendan Taylor, who will serve as Vice President, Golf for WMG Management.

Jay Danzi, who leads WMG’s US practice, will work closely with Taylor to identify worldwide opportunities for clients.

Prior to WMG, Taylor spent nine years with IMG in the position of Vice President, Golf where he signed, managed and/or negotiated marketing deals for players such as Luke Donald Paul Lawrie, Ian Woosnam, Nick Dougherty, Ross Fisher and Oliver Fisher, Pablo Martin, and Zane Scotland among others.
