O2 has been confirmed as an Official Partner of the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 in England and the presenting partner of the opening show in Sunderland.

The agreement has formed part of a joint venture between World Rugby and the Rugby Football Union (RFU), with backing from the UK Government, to support delivery of the tournament. The competition is set to begin at the Stadium of Light on 22nd August and will feature 32 matches across six weeks.

O2 customers have been given access to tickets and matchday experiences through the company’s Priority platform. The brand has also committed to producing an opening show ahead of the first match, with further details of the entertainment line-up expected in the coming weeks.

O2 has previously pledged equal investment in the men’s and women’s games and has continued to work alongside the RFU and Women’s Sport Trust to help raise visibility of the Red Roses and build wider support for the women’s game.

The partnership has followed a period of record-breaking attendances for England Women at Twickenham and increased media coverage of the team.

With fewer than 100 days until kick-off, over 300,000 tickets have been sold for England 2025, more than doubling the total attendance for the 2021 tournament in New Zealand.

This edition will feature the most teams in Women’s Rugby World Cup history.

Sarah Massey, Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 Managing Director, said, “O2’s long-standing commitment to English rugby is undeniable, and we’re delighted to have them on board for what will be a record-breaking tournament here in England.

With powerful personalities on the pitch and unmissable action in every match, Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 will be more than a tournament – it will be a nationwide celebration of the sport.
