Zeus Events, the company that is delivering the inaugural Women’s Tour of Scotland, has appointed The Sports Consultancy to secure partners for the cycling event.
The two parties will work together on partnerships for both the 2019 event and future editions of the Tour.
The first edition of the Women’s Tour of Scotland will take place from 9th-11th August. It will mark the first time an official rights-holder has committed to organising a standalone professional women’s race before a men’s equivalent.
The Sports Consultancy will be advising on optimal partnership structure as it aims to attract supporters for the new event. The agency has experience of securing sponsors for cycling and has brokered over 10 deals so far in 2019.
“Our strong network of contacts in the Scottish and broader UK sponsorship market will hopefully be of terrific value to the event along with our collective experience in the sport,” Marc Hope, Director of Rights Marketing for The Sports Consultancy, said.
The Women’s Tour of Scotland was announced by the International Cycling Union (UCI) six months ago and will feature both elite and mass-participation elements.
Last month, the Women’s Tour of Scotland announced Deloitte as an official digital supporter and Scimitar as an official apparel partner. Both companies signed three-year contracts with the race, which this year starts in Dundee and finishes in Edinburgh.
