All stadiums for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa are expected to be finished by October, according to the tournament’s organising committee.
Danny Jordaan, the committee’s president, has been promoting this year’s Confederation Cup in an effort to put any concerns about preparations for the upcoming World Cup to rest.
He claimed that the stadiums that will be used for the Confederations Cup have been used before, in such tournaments as the 1995 Rugby World Cup.
He added that the six stadiums intended for 2010 will be ready for use by October.
A major concern around the world renowned tournament has been security, and Jordaan has also said that this will be a top priority for the organising committee, claiming that 1.3bn South African Rand (US$138m) has been committed to increasing the police force.
