World Rugby has appointed Allianz as an Official Supporter of the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025.
The agreement has included confirmation that Allianz Stadium will host the final of the tournament, which is scheduled to take place on 27th September 2025.
The 2025 edition of the Women’s Rugby World Cup will be held in England for the first time since 2010, with matches staged across seven host cities from 22nd August. Sixteen teams will compete for the newly unveiled tournament trophy.
The final at Allianz Stadium is projected to break the attendance record for a women’s rugby match, aiming to surpass the 66,000 attendance set at the Stade de France during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
This appointment has followed a year after Allianz secured the naming rights for the stadium through a partnership with England Rugby, marking the first international stadium naming rights agreement in the history of the Rugby World Cup. The partnership has also included support for both England’s men’s and women’s national teams and investment into youth development programmes.
As part of the wider tournament activation strategy, Allianz has partnered with global fan engagement platform Stepathlon to launch ‘The Road to Allianz Stadium’ – a campaign encouraging fans to walk the equivalent distance from the Stadium of Light in Sunderland, host of the opening match, to the venue of the final.
