The Welsh Rugby Union WRU) has appointed Belinda Moore as its interim Head of Women’s Rugby.
Moore will serve a nine-month term, following the national rugby union body’s review of the senior women’s game.
Having previously served as CEO of Premiership Women’s Rugby (PWR), Moore brings extensive experience to the role, with a career spanning sponsorship, broadcasting, program management, and public relations.
Moore’s past roles have included positions at the DP World Tour, and a spell as Head of Athlete Engagement for Team GB at the London 2012 Olympics.
In her new position, her responsibilities include overseeing the WRU’s structures and pathways into the professional game, evaluating the feasibility of the Celtic Challenge competition, preparing for the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025, managing player contracts, and contributing to the Women’s Rugby and Six Nations Game committees.
Moore has started in her role immediately and is expected to collaborate closely with the WRU’s new senior women’s head coach, an appointment that is set to be confirmed shortly.
“The rate of growth of the game is there for all to see, with a Six Nations clash with England at Principality Stadium later this year which is set to break new records for attendance at a home international which is a hugely symbolic sign of that growth,” Moore said.
“Our task and challenge is to harness this growth and maximise the potential of the women and girls’ game across the country.”
