Wru To Bid For 2010 Heineken Cup Final

The Welsh Rugby Union is bidding to bring next season’s Heineken Cup Final to the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.

WRU group chief executive Roger Lewis commented: ‘I’ve put in a bid. Whether or not we’ll be getting it, who knows, because we had it in 2008, but we’ll be discussing it.’

Cardiff has already hosted the final in 2006, 2002, 1997 and 1996 and the future venue for 2010 will be discussed at a European Rugby Cup meeting in Dublin this week.

The 2009 final will be held at Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh on 23rd May.
