The new US F1 team, which will debut next season, has landed a primary investor in YouTube co-founder Chad Hurley.

The Charlotte-based team, owned by former Ligier technical director Ken Anderson and former Williams team boss Peter Windsor, will be one of three new teams added to the 2010 roster next season.

Hurley will now be the major backer for America’s first F1 team in more than 40 years.

In addition to funding, Hurley claimed he will also bring his experience in video technology to the team’s corporate strategy and media plan.

The investor made his fortune when YouTube was sold to Google in 2006 for $1.65 billion, and is still the CEO of the company.
