Sprinter Desiree Henry has confirmed she is fit to compete at the Müller Anniversary Games after suffering cramp at the European Championships. Henry has announced she will be running the 100m on Friday July 22nd taking on the likes of Jamaica’s Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce – who won gold in 2012, and her compatriot Dina Asher-Smith who won gold at the European Championships.

The 20-year-old qualified for the Rio 2016 Olympics by finishing second in the 200m at the British Championships last month.

Henry was one of seven young people who lit the Olympic cauldron at the London 2012 Olympic opening ceremony and was invited back for a special training session at the Olympic Stadium by British Athletics to promote her participation in the Müller Anniversary Games.
