Football Beyond Borders (FBB) and Gillette have released a new film, What Makes a Man: The Reunion, to mark the five-year anniversary of their partnership.

The film’s premiere, which took place on Thursday 16th May, saw Arsenal legend Ian Wright and music stars Ezra Collective in attendance.

What Makes a Man: The Reunion sets out ‘to empower the next generation to embrace healthier expressions of masculinity, delving into the stories of young men navigating manhood with courage and resilience.’

Throughout FBB and Gilette’s five-year collaboration, the pair have delivered educational programmes at 51 schools across the country, to help provide more young people opportunities to ‘become the best version of themselves, through sport.’

The film revisits one of the first school groups to take FBB’s ‘What Makes a Man’ module and follows the reunion of the students with their FBB practitioners five years on to reflect on the impact the module had in inspiring them to be the young men they are today.

Gillette ambassador, Ian Wright, said, “When you listen to young people and understand what’s missing from their lives, brands and people with influence can make proper change. I’m so proud that FBB and Gillette are teaching young people about black history, something that’s always been missing from education. What I saw tonight was young people becoming adults who don’t just accept things as they’ve always been and it’s really humbling and exciting”.
