Manchester City have announced the return of their Global Cityzens Giving Campaign for a sixth year.

The six-week initiative supports social development projects around the world which aim to change lives through football. The club says it will donate £400,000 to the project, and City fans around the world will then decide how the funding is split. 

Six community projects based in Manchester, Melbourne, New York City, Mumbai, Philadelphia and Ghana have been selected by the club and focus on areas including girls’ empowerment, social inclusion, safe water and education. 


DAZN has hired Andrew Ryan as Managing Director of FIBA Media, the joint venture between the sports media company and the international basketball federation.

Reporting to Stewart Walker, EVP Global Rights Partnerships, Ryan will be responsible for driving FIBA Media’s growth strategy, enhancing the quality of broadcast coverage and working with broadcasters to promote basketball locally. 

Ryan, a former global media legal and business affairs lead for the IOC, takes over from Paul Stimpson, who has moved into a new role within the DAZN group.


Munich has been named as host of the second edition of the multi-sport European Championships in 2022.

The inaugural tournament was held jointly by Glasgow and Berlin in 2018, and featured seven sports – Athletics, Aquatics, Cycling, Golf, Gymnastics, Rowing and Triathlon – all of which have been confirmed for the 2022 tournament.


Sportradar has signed a long-term partnership extension with DraftKings in a deal that gives the daily fantasy sport brand access to official sport data feeds including NFL, MLB and NBA.

The partnership will bring more instantaneous data feeds to the DraftKings Sportsbook, supplementing live and in-play betting.


Glasgow, a UEFA EURO 2020 host city, has unveiled its plans for a major city centre Football Village and Fan Zone to be created for the tournament.

George Square will play host to the city’s biggest fan park, while an additional fan zone will be opened in Merchant City for the four matches which will take place at Hampden Park.


Team England has announced 2019 Sport Industry NextGen Alumni Francesca Carter-Kelly as Chef de Mission for the 2021 Commonwealth Youth Games in Trinidad and Tobago.

Currently Team England’s Head of Performance and Sort Engagement, Carter-Kelly will be responsible for the smooth operation of the team and creating a supportive environment for young athletes to fulfil their potential.
