The BT Sport Industry Awards, the largest of its kind, celebrated the best in the business on Thursday evening, attracting sports stars, celebrities and senior figures from across the industry and beyond.

Trophies were awarded in front of 1,700 industry leaders and their guests at a star-studded event at Battersea Evolution in London. Celebrities included Tom Daley, Nico Rosberg, Laura Kenny CBE, Max Whitlock MBE, Wes Morgan, Chris Eubank, David Haye and Jodie Kidd.

Following a remarkable career, Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill CBE was presented with the Outstanding Contribution to Sport Award in association with Vitality. She was handed the award by fellow Team GB team mates and Olympic medal-winners, Tom Daley and Laura Kenny CBE.

Sir Philip Craven MBE, president of the International Paralympic Committee, was handed the Leadership in Sport Award in association with Nolan Partners, for a year of bold decision-making.

Jürgen Grobler OBE, meanwhile, earned the Coutts Lifetime Achievement Award for his role in changing the way that Olympic teams can be set up, leading British rowers to gold in every Olympics since 1992.

Elsewhere in the industry, Two Circles picked up the prestigious Agency of the Year Award, while adidas was recognised as Brand of the Year in association with Pinsent Masons.

Samsung’s School of Rio was awarded Event or Competition Sponsorship of the Year in association with CSM Live, whilst England Hockey was named Governing Body of the Year in association with XL Catlin.

Channel 4’s We’re The Superhumans scooped the final award of the evening, Campaign of the Year in association with Smart Group.

“Our award winners this year continue to defy expectations,” said Nick Keller, chairman of Sport Industry Group.

“The invention, graft, reach and focus of these brands, organisations and campaigns highlight the fact that Britain is a world leader in the sports industry. Our winners are doing amazing things to engage people in every corner of sport – from our world-renowned events and tournaments to local grassroots projects. Each one has faced stiff competition just to be shortlisted, but to win a category is an exceptional achievement. Congratulations to all of them.”
