Papa Johns Becomes SPFL Official Partner

The Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL) has announced a new three-year deal with Papa John’s, in a deal which will see the pizza chain become the league’s Official Delivery and Takeaway Partner. 

The partnership will run until the end of the 2022/23 season and will see the chain provide ‘commercial and promotional support’ to clubs across the four SPFL divisions, as well as its cup competitions. 

“This announcement is tremendously exciting news and aligns Scottish football with a globally-recognised brand and hugely popular product,” said Neil Doncaster, CEO, SPFL.

“We are extremely grateful to Papa John’s for supporting our game at such a crucial time for all our member clubs. It is also testament to the appeal of the Scottish game that an organisation such as Papa John’s, that has an illustrious history of supporting sport and entertainment events, recognises the scale of our audience both in the UK and overseas.”

I know our franchisee community are equally excited and looking forward to bringing the partnership to life across Scotland and their local communities. Watching football and takeaways go hand in hand, and while fans may not be able to get into the stadiums right now, the best way to support your team is to watch it at home, with a slice or two of Papa John’s pizza.” 

As part of the deal, Papa Johns will also create a new digital campaign aimed at fans of Scottish football, with giveaways and discounts available throughout each season. The brand will also take over the SPFL’s online Score Predictor game, which will give fans another opportunity to win rewards. 

The move broadens the pizza company’s portfolio of sporting partnerships, having recently announced deals with Paralympics GB and the Betfred Super League.
