The Rugby Players’ Association (RPA) has appointed creative agency TwelfthMan as its official creative partner in a rebrand to mark the organisation’s 20th anniversary.

The brief includes a full review of the RPA’s brand strategy and visual identity, with the initial stages of the project already under way.

TwelfthMan’s design director Ranald Graham is leading the rebranding project and emphasised the collaborative nature of the work.

“They are extremely knowledgeable and open-minded about how to take the brand forward,” he said.

“It is a privilege to work with them because they represent the players and are so hardwired into the real heart of the game.”

Founded in 1998, the RPA represents more than 1,000 professional rugby players, both past and present.

RPA CEO Damian Hopley commented: “This has been a landmark year for the RPA as we celebrate turning 20.

“The opportunity to partner with TwelfthMan – given their outstanding reputation – is extremely exciting and we are looking forward to working together.”

Sharon Bennett, head of client services at TwelfthMan, added: “We are excited to be working with such an important association that supports so many sportsmen and women in England.

“The RPA is a progressive organisation and we look forward to being part of their journey in the coming months.”

TwelfthMan has a history of working in rugby with clients including Premiership clubs Wasps, Harlequins and World Rugby.

The agency’s client roster also features UEFA, the Premier League, the International Tennis Federation and the England and Wales Cricket Board.
